Expert guides are at your disposal to help you explore this many-faceted and fascinating town. You can also follow the recommended theme-based tours on your own. The classic ‘art-historical tour’ enables you to discover the medieval town centre, castles, the original main street lined by the famous arcaded walkways, and museums. If you decide to take some time away from the metropolis you can easily escape within minutes to the tranquillity of the surrounding mountains with their splendid views of the Dolomites and the mountains in the west of South Tyrol, or stroll among the vineyards, perhaps calling in for refreshments at a farmhouse inn. And if you’re a cyclist the you can pedal for hours along the cycle pathways beside the rivers and if you head off in the direction of Meran/o and beyond, Lake Garda (100 km) or Bressanone/Brixen you can return by train (not on intercity services).
