The "historic and cultural route" (available at the Tourist Office) enables you to discover the medieval town centre,  the original main street lined by the famous arcaded walkways, castles and museums. If you decide to spend some time away from the metropolis you can easily escape within minutes to the peacefullness of the surrounding mountains with their splendid views of the Dolomites, or stroll among the vineyards, perhaps calling in for refreshments at a farmhouse inn. And if you are a cyclist you can pedal for hours along the cycle pathways along the rivers. You head off in the direction of Meran/o and beyond, or towards Lake Garda (100 km) or Bressanone/Brixen: it is always possible to return by train (not on intercity services).
