15th - 31st July 2020
"EDEN - Dance for a spectator" is the new title of the 36th edition of Bolzano Dance. The program created by E. Masi before the Coronavirus Pandemia had to be reinvented and now the Haydn Foundation presents, in accordance with the current health measures, a unique edition of the festival.
In the huge hall of the main theatre of Bolzano one spectator in solitude will see the curtain open on a choreography chosen among 3 exclusively realized for the festival:
- EDEN of Carolyn by Carolyn Carlson
- EDEN secondo MIchele by Michele Di Stefano
- EDEN selon Rachid by Rachid Ouramdane
The choreographies last 10 minutes and are presented in pre-set slots of 5 replicas per choreographer/interpreter. Each choreographer will have 2 slots per day available. The spectator can book the day, the author and the time of his or her choice on the website www.bolzanodanza.it (from June 24th). All performances are free of charge. Those who want to see all works or more performers will have to return to the theatre several times.
It is one of the most important dates of Bolzano's cultural programme for the summer. For almost two weeks, in the second half of July, the capital of Alto Adige turns into an artistic display with an international flair for dance lovers and those with an interest.
Over the years, world famous artists, national companies and special projects have made this occasion a key reference point in the European dance scene. Bolzano thrives on its deep-rooted duality of cultures, the festival, entertaining, yet educational, attracts professionals and lovers of all forms of dance who find an "excuse" to visit Bolzano in the middle of summer. The schedule of dance shows is accompanied by workshops for the younger ones who are offered special packages: from creative dance to flamenco, from hip hop to meeting the artists, long nights of dance, courses for professionals who wish to improve for example their flamenco or classical ballet, modern dance or latin jazz classes.
