Autumn

Autumn

In Bolzano, autumn is synonymous with Törggelen, new wine and food markets. It is harvest season, when the days begin to get shorter and the weather cooler, the slopes turn orange and the air smells of grape harvests.

Tractors laden with grapes drive through the town, spreading the feeling of harvest everywhere. The aroma of must wafts from the wine cellars, which organize numerous guided tours with tastings.

A walk through the woods, ending at a "Buschenschank", is the perfect opportunity to discover the tradition of Törggelen and enjoy typical country dishes prepared with seasonal and 0 km products.

Thanksgiving

A traditional feast to celebrate the end and success of the harvest! A tradition that conquers not only the mountain villages, but also the urban reality, animating Walther Square with stalls offering a wide range of autumn products.

Organized by the Bauernbund, the South Tyrolean farmers' union, in mid-October around forty growers and farmers bring fruit and vegetables, juices and syrups, herbs and spirits, cheeses and cured meats from their fields for you to taste and buy.

And while parents are busy discovering farming life by chatting with exhibitors and tasting speck and chestnuts, children can throw themselves into piles of hay where they can play and admire and caress farm animals!
