Experience the Middle Ages with all your senses. The castle festival lends a fairytale feel to Bolzano's summer.

The castle landscape around Bolzano invites you to stroll around and discover its treasures. Even more so on the occasion of Castelronda, when the most beautiful castles in and around Bolzano open their doors to visitors and reveal all their secrets in courtyards, dungeons and towers... Bolzano and Appiano/Eppan are the first locations involved in the initiative, with 6 castles and ruins to visit, 6 programmes and 6 unique experiences to live a dive into the past.

Runkelstein Castle, the ruins of Rafenstein Castle just above Bozen, Hocheppan Castle, Boymont Castle, Trostburg Castle and Festenstein are brought back to life by historical re-enactments with ladies and knights. Guided tours and excursions are also on the programme.
