Local transport

The environmentally friendly bus and train travel is in Bolzano Bozen and South Tyrol a top priority. Our region has has a long tradition of easy access by cable car to high lying villages or up into mountains. Bus and train timetables are coordinated, providing perfect access to valleys and smaller villages.

Public Transport in South Tyrol

The South Tyrolean Transport Association unites urban and intercity lines, city buses, regional trains and the Trenitalia Italian Railway as well as the trains of the South Tyrolean Railway. The Mendel Pass Funicular Railway, the Rittnerbahn railway and the cable cars in Renon/Ritten, San Genesio Atesino/Jenesien, Verano/Vöran, Meltina/Mölten and Maranza/Meransen can also be used with a single ticket.

You can find the schedules of the city busses on the website www.sasabz.it or in the app "SASAbus" for Android and iOS.
You can find the schedules of the trains, busses and cable cars on the website www.altoadigemobilita.info or in the app "AltoAdige2Go" for Android and iOS.

You can travel by public transport using the Bolzano Bozen Card, the Mobilcard e Museumobilcard, prepaid tickets for € 10-25-50 and single tickets.

Very important: the tickets must be validated before each trip on the blue machines at the train stations or directly in the busses.

NEW: Bikesharing (from October 7th 2019)
