By Rail

The most convenient way to get to the center of Bolzano is by train: the station is a two-minute walk from Walther Square!

Trenitalia

Frecciargento offers direct daily connections from Monday to Sunday from Rome, Florence, Bologna, Verona, Trento and Rovereto.

From the end of June to the end of August, with FRECCIALink you can reach Val Gardena starting from Bolzano station without having to change buses.

Italo

With Italo it is possible to get from Rome to Bolzano with some daily connections, passing through Florence, Verona, Rovereto and Trento and vice versa.

DB-ÖBB Italy

With the DB-ÖBB EuroCity trains you can reach Bolzano and South Tyrol with several direct daily connections from Bologna, Venice and Verona. Fares on offer from €9.90. Family travel: children up to 14 years of age travel free of charge when accompanied by a parent or grandparent.

Connection ticket South Tyrol

A connection ticket (equivalent to the 1-day Mobilcard) can be purchased at the DB Italia and ÖBB sales channels and on board the DB-ÖBB Eurocity trains for € 5. It is valid on the day of arrival or the day of departure.

By bus

Alto Adige Bus offers guaranteed transfers to/from the airports of Munich, Verona, Bergamo, Milan Malpensa and Linate. www.altoadigebus.com

FlixBus offers connections from/to Bolzano with departure/arrival in numerous Italian and international cities. The bus stop is located in Via Buozzi, Bolzano South. To reach the city center, you can take the train from Merano (takes 5 minutes from the Bolzano Sud stop to the center) or city bus 10B (takes 20 minutes from the "Bolzano Fiera" stop on the opposite side of the Fiera to the center).

Südtirol Transfer - from the station to your holiday accommodation

By plane

Bolzano airport, not far from the fairgrounds and only 15 minutes from the city center; connections by taxi (Radio Taxi 0471 981 111).

The nearest airports are in Verona, Innsbruck, Bergamo, Milan, Venice, Bologna, Treviso, Salzburg and Munich. The connection from the airports to the railway stations is provided by several shuttles. South Tyrol can also be reached by Trenitalia, DB and ÖBB trains.

From these airports (except Venice, Treviso, Bologna and Salzburg) Alto Adige Bus offers a shuttle connection to South Tyrol. The service offers a wide range of stops throughout South Tyrol.

By car, camper van, private buses

ATTENTION! The historic center of Bolzano is a restricted traffic zone and is monitored by an automatic control system with cameras. To avoid penalties, we recommend that you follow the signs to the car parks in the city center, taking care not to drive through the CCTV gates.

In the municipality of Bozen/Bolzano there is a driving ban on all "Euro 0", "Euro 1", "Euro 2 Diesel" and "Euro 3 Diesel" vehicles. The ban is valid from Monday to Friday (except public holidays), from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. For more information click here.

Coming from the south

We recommend the Bolzano Sud motorway exit and the Fiera Bolzano car park (1300 spaces). The car park is connected every 15 minutes by bus. Even faster is the train that takes you from Bolzano Sud to the central station in 3 minutes.

Coming from the north

We recommend the Bolzano Nord motorway exit and the "Bolzano Centro" car park in Via Mayr Nusser (1200 spaces), a five-minute walk from Piazza Walther.

Coming from the west

State roads 42 and 38 and the "Palasport" car park (500 spaces) connected by bus to the centre every 10 minutes.

For organized bus travel

We recommend that you take the A22 motorway and exit at Bolzano Sud (or Bolzano Nord for those coming from the north) and follow the signs to the "Bolzano Centro" P8 car park in Via Mayr Nusser.
