Cultural Highlights

Theatre

The new season of the Teatro Stabile begins on October 11 and runs until April 4, 2026. As always, the line-up of theatre companies and artists performing on the stage of the theatre at Piazza Verdi is impressive, including Toni Servillo, Giuliana De Sio, Vinicio Marchioni, Alessandro Haber, Teresa Saponangelo, Silvio Orlando, Gabriele Lavia, Neri Marcorè, and many other leading figures of the Italian theatre scene. Twelve subscription performances are scheduled, complemented by a special event featuring Stefano Massini.

Music

The 2025/2026 Haydn Orchestra season is presented under the motto “Musica d’arte for all.” It aims to make high-quality concerts accessible to the widest possible audience and to place itself at the service of the community. Inspired by this guiding principle, the orchestra embarks on a journey through fascinating soundscapes – from Baroque to contemporary music. The season is divided into four thematic sections: Attractions and Contrasts (Ginastera, Mozart…), Elective Affinities (Bach, Händel…), Movements and Revolutions (Stravinsky, Haydn…), and finally a poetic encounter with Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish composers in dialogue with Central European contemporaries (Svendsen, Brahms…).

Opera also takes on a central role in this program. Guided by the vision of creating a house for performance and music that appeals equally to the eye and ear, the opera season moves beyond traditional boundaries. The curtain rises with Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore.

In addition, the Società dei Concerti Bolzano–Konzert Verein Bozen continues its autumn program: on November 3 and 24 (at the Kulturhaus and the Mercantile Palace), on December 3 at the Kulturhaus with the winner of the Busoni Piano Competition, and on December 14 with J. S. Bach’s Advent Cantatas in the Franciscan Church.

Between October 18 and November 8, music and wine culture intertwine: the third edition of the concert series Melodie di Vini along the Wine Road presents international and local music in wineries, castles, and historic residences. Bolzano, the city of wine, hosts two concerts: on November 3, Claire Huangci performs at the Waltherhaus, and on November 8, the Lignum Quartet plays at the Bolzano Winery, an evening organized by the Bolzano Tourism Board. Alongside the music, guests can enjoy tastings of selected regional wines.

Museums

In the field of visual arts, Museion continues its research work on its own collection and presents, until January 31, the exhibition You and the Night and the Music – Edizioni Francesco Conz from the Museion Collection, dedicated to art editions. From November 7, the museum’s second floor will be transformed into a dialogue space between past, present, and future, design, and collective reflection, featuring a significant collection of Olympic torches. This exhibition is part of the Cultural Olympiad Milano Cortina 2026, which places art and culture at the heart of the Olympic vision. The aim is to bring Olympic values beyond sport into society, strengthening sustainable dialogue between art, culture, and sports.

At the Archaeological Museum, the permanent exhibition dedicated to Ötzi, the Iceman, remains the main attraction. Until November 2, the special exhibition The Loft – Feeling at Home, Yesterday and Today is also on display, contrasting various archaeologically reconstructed living spaces of South Tyrol – from prehistory to Roman times – with contemporary ways of living.
