Culture: Contemporary Art and Music
The Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation continues its commitment as a place of culture, artistic expression, research, and dialogue between the arts in the city. It connects a territory such as South Tyrol with an international vision and actively contributes to building an open and participatory community.
Among the most important events this year, starting on May 22, is “TOUTITÉ – ILIAZD. The Studio of Form” – a performance by the Cabinet Institute, part of the Italian retrospective dedicated to Ilia Zdanevich.
To make contemporary art more accessible and engaging, the Foundation is launching a new initiative this spring: once a month it will also open on Sundays. In addition to viewing the artworks, interactive workshops for families and young people will be offered.
For 2026, Museion’s exhibition program draws inspiration from the idea of the polis, a space of civic life aiming to connect the museum’s collection with the local territory.
Until September 13, 2026, a major solo exhibition celebrating the ninetieth birthday of Franco Vaccari will be on display. Titled “Feedback. The Environments of Franco Vaccari” (March 28 – September 13, 2026), the exhibition focuses for the first time on the artist’s immersive environments and participatory works, in which the spontaneous actions of the audience become the true substance of the artwork.
“Sweet Landscape” is the title of the first institutional exhibition in Italy by Chinese artist Evelyn Taocheng Wang (Chengdu, 1981), on view at Museion until November 8. Wang creates a special scenography composed mainly of new works that relate her multifaceted practice to South Tyrol’s hybrid culture. The exhibition features new paintings on canvas and silk, as well as garments inspired by the local fruit market, mountain landscapes, and medieval frescoes depicting daily life, festivities, and representations of femininity.
From May 14 to June 16, 2026, Museion presents in its underground gallery a new video work by artist Som Supaparinya (b. Chiang Mai, 1973), winner of the Han Nefkens Foundation – Southeast Asian Video Art Production Grant 2024, which supports Southeast Asian video artists wishing to expand their practice internationally.
Also at Museion in May, the final event of a concert series organized by the Haydn Orchestra will take place, aimed at introducing children to classical music. Through listening, movement, and interaction—between songs and dances in the “Coccole al Museion” workshop—children will create their own concert.
Coccole Knuddelkonzert – Our Voice will be held on Sunday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m. for children up to 3 years old and at 11:00 a.m. for children aged 4 to 7 at Museion in Bolzano.
