Experience Wine in Autumn

Bolzano Bozen brings together wine, culture and joie de vivre like few other cities. In the coming weeks, a series of enjoyable events will offer the opportunity to experience South Tyrolean wine in all its facets: from the St. Magdalener Aperitivo in Waltherplatz-Piazza Walther and exceptional musical experiences to guided city tours, winery visits and convivial Weinstammtisch evenings. Be inspired and enjoy autumn and winter in Bolzano, the city of wine.

1. St. Magdalener Aperitivo – 4 and 5 September

The St. Magdalener Aperitivo will take place on 4 and 5 September 2026 in Waltherplatz. The event is a “long aperitivo” featuring tastings, live music and around twenty local producers. At its heart is the fresh and versatile St. Magdalener, grown on the sun-kissed slopes north of Bolzano.

2. Melodie di Vini lungo la Strada del Vino dell’Alto Adige- Weinklänge an der Südtiroler Weinstraße – 27 and 29 October

On 27 October, the Haydn Orchestra will perform at Bolzano City Theatre in a symphonic concert conducted by Michele Mariotti. The programme features works by three composers from the Romantic period and the early 20th century. A glass of South Tyrolean wine will be served at the end of the evening.

On 29 October, the Melodie di Vini lungo la Strada del Vino dell’Alto Adige- Weinklänge an der Südtiroler Weinstraße event will instead bring O/Modernt and Hugo Ticciati to Museion Bolzano. Music from different periods will be combined with contemporary music. A glass of South Tyrolean wine will also be served at the end of the evening.

3. Guided Tour “Bolzano, the City of Wine”

Guided wine tour through Bolzano, with dates available until 30 October 2026.

Every Friday, except 25 September and 16 October, the Bolzano Tourism Board offers an engaging tour through the city exploring its wine culture.

Meeting point: 3 pm at the Tourist Information Office, Kornplatz 11.

4. Ongoing Winery Tours & Wine Tastings at Bolzano Winery

Modern architecture meets traditional winemaking: at Kellerei Bozen-Cantina Bolzano, tradition and modernity come together. The winery offers regular guided tours of its cellars followed by a tasting of selected red and white wines.

5. Bolzano Weinstammtisch

An informal evening for wine lovers, offering the opportunity to exchange ideas and discover more about wine with the guidance of a sommelier. The event takes place on the first Monday of every month from 6 pm at Schmid Oberrautner Winery in Bolzano, Fagenstraße 50C.
