A Night of Wine and Wishes
Bolzano’s “Lorenzinacht-Calici di Stelle” on August 7 brings together wine, summer atmosphere, and a centuries-old Italian tradition for an unforgettable evening under the open sky.
As dusk settles over Bolzano in August and the first shooting stars appear, one of the most atmospheric nights of the South Tyrolean wine summer begins. The 2026 edition takes place on August 7 from 6 pm, transforming the old town into an open-air tasting promenade.
Organized by the Bolzano Bozen Tourism Board, the event centers on wine tasting and direct interaction with producers. “Wine is a key element for us—it represents quality, authenticity, and lifestyle, shaping the city’s image far beyond the region,” says President Roland Buratti. “Events like Lorenzinacht-Calici di Stelle allow us to create a high-quality, authentic experience rooted in Bolzano.”
Along carefully curated stands, local wineries present their finest wines—from fresh whites like Sauvignon and Gewürztraminer to expressive reds such as Lagrein and Vernatsch. Visitors can explore freely, guided by expert insights, while regional culinary bites enhance the experience.
The event is inspired by the Italian “Notte di San Lorenzo,” the night of shooting stars on August 10, when wishes are sent into the sky. These stars are said to be the tears of Saint Lawrence. Known as the “Night of the Stars,” it blends conviviality, flavor, and summer magic—uniquely in Bolzano.
